About the

NC Rib Festival

The NC Rib Festival is more than just a food event; it’s a celebration of community, competition, and the deep-rooted tradition of North Carolina barbecue. Held annually at the scenic W.B. Ennis Park in Red Oak, our festival brings together families, foodies, and pitmasters from across the state for a day dedicated to the art of the grill.

Our Roots

Founded on a love for slow-cooked flavors and local hospitality, the NC Rib Festival was created to showcase the incredible talent of our region’s backyard cooks and professional pitmasters alike. We believe that the best memories are made over a plate of ribs and the sound of live music, which is why we’ve built an event that captures the heart of Southern culture.

A Day of Competition & Flavor

At the core of the festival is our high-stakes Rib Cook-Off, where teams vie for bragging rights and the title of the best ribs in the region. But the heat doesn't stop there. We host a high-energy Rib Eating Contest for those with a serious appetite and a BBQ Sauce Contest to honor the craft of the perfect tang and spice.

Beyond the competitions, our Food Truck Alley serves up a diverse range of gourmet eats, ensuring that no one leaves hungry.

Community & Connection

We take pride in being a family-first event. With a dedicated Kids Zone, an expansive Vendor Market featuring local artisans, and a stage featuring Live Music throughout the day, there is truly something for everyone.

Our mission is to provide a vibrant, safe, and delicious space for the Red Oak community and our visitors to connect, support local businesses, and celebrate the flavors that make North Carolina world-famous. Whether you're here for the trophies or just the sticky fingers, we’re honored to have you at our table.
